Hummingbird Membership Terms
Effective from: 18 August 2026
These terms explain how the Hummingbird Membership works. They are written in plain English, because nobody needs a legal headache before they have even made their tea.
By joining, you agree to these terms.

Your membership
The Hummingbird Membership is a monthly subscription to The Teabreak Project.
Each monthly Teabreak includes a complete creative project, drinks and a treat for two proper Teabreaks, two scented tealights, a curated playlist and a collectable Hummingbird badge. Your first box also includes a welcome gift.
Free tracked UK delivery is included with the membership.
There is no minimum term. You can pause, skip or cancel through your membership account whenever you need to.
Price and payments
The current membership price is shown when you join and includes tracked UK delivery.
Your first Teabreak is dispatched within 3–5 working days of joining. Membership then renews on the 1st of each month.
If you join on or before the 25th, your next payment will be taken on the 1st of the following month. If you join from the 26th onwards, your next payment will not be taken until the 1st of the month after that.
We may need to change the membership price from time to time. If we do, we will email you at least one full calendar month before the new price applies. You can cancel your membership before the new price takes effect if you do not wish to continue.
Pausing, skipping and cancelling
You can manage your membership through your account, including pausing, skipping or cancelling future renewals.
Pauses can be set for between one and four months, with a chosen restart date.
Cancelling stops future payments. If a Teabreak has already been paid for, is being prepared or has been dispatched, it may still be sent. Any applicable cancellation rights for a specific paid order are explained in our Delivery & Returns page.
If a payment does not go through, we will email you and try again over the following 10 days. If payment is still unsuccessful, that month’s box will be missed. Your membership will remain active, and we will try again at the next monthly renewal unless you cancel.
Your account, address and preferences
You are responsible for keeping your account information, payment details, delivery address and preferences up to date.
Please make changes to your drink or treat preferences through your membership account before the 1st of the month. Monthly orders are generated on the 1st using the preferences held on your account at that point, so changes made after then may not apply until the following box.
You can change your delivery address through your account before the 1st of the month. If you have missed that date, email us by the 8th with your order number and new address. If your box has not already been dispatched, we will do our best to help.
Contents, availability and substitutions
Each Teabreak is a surprise, so the exact project, colours, treats, drinks, scents, brands and playlist change from month to month.
We may occasionally need to substitute an item because of availability, supplier changes or another issue outside our control. Any substitute will be of a similar type and, where reasonably possible, equal or greater value.
Welcome gifts, birthday surprises, Seasonal Hummingbird Surprises, badges and other extras are subject to availability and may change over time. Seasonal Hummingbird Surprises are offered after six months of membership, as described at the time.
Dietary choices, allergies and sensitivities
You can select vegan, gluten-free, vegan and gluten-free treat options through your account. All treats arrive in their original sealed packaging, with ingredients, allergen information and dietary claims provided by the manufacturer. Please always check the label before enjoying.
We do not deliberately choose items that list nuts in their ingredients. However, we cannot guarantee that any item is free from nuts, other allergens, traces, cross-contamination, fragrances or other ingredients that may cause a sensitivity.
We are unable to manage individual allergy or ingredient requests beyond the listed dietary options. If something in your Teabreak is not suitable for you, please do not use or eat it—sharing it with a friend or family member is often the loveliest solution.
Hummingbird benefits
Active Hummingbirds receive access to the private Hummingbird Community and a 15% discount on eligible shop purchases, subject to the Shop Discount Terms.
These benefits are for members’ own use. Community access, discounts and other membership benefits may be removed if they are misused.
Referrals and account credit
Hummingbirds may be given a personal referral link to share with friends.
At the time of writing, a new member joining through a valid referral link receives £10 off, and the referring Hummingbird receives £15 account credit. These amounts, and the way the referral scheme operates, may change or be withdrawn at any time.
Referral rewards are intended for genuine new members. They must not be used for self-referrals, duplicate accounts, artificial sign-ups or any arrangement designed mainly to generate discount or account credit.
If we reasonably believe the referral scheme is being misused—including where there is a pattern of multiple referred memberships being cancelled after a single month—we may remove or revoke account credit, refuse a referral reward, suspend referral access or close the relevantmembership account.
Account credit is not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
The Hummingbird Community
The Hummingbird Community is a kind, members-only space. Please treat other members with respect.
Harassment, bullying, hate speech, spam, unsolicited selling, sharing another member’s private information, or behaviour that makes the group feel unsafe or unpleasant is not welcome. We may remove community access or end a membership where there is a serious or repeated breach.
The separate Facebook group rules also apply when using the Community.
Misuse and ending a membership
We may suspend or end a membership, remove benefits or refuse future orders where reasonably necessary—for example, in cases of fraud, chargebacks raised without first contacting us to resolve a problem, abuse of discounts or referrals, or a serious breach of these terms.
We will not use this right to limit any statutory rights you may have.
Gift memberships
Gift Memberships are paid for upfront for a fixed 3-, 6- or 12-month term and do not renew automatically.
The recipient may receive membership benefits during their gift term, subject to these terms and the Shop Discount Terms. When the gift term ends, those benefits end unless they choose to start their own paid membership.
Contact, law and your rights
If there is a problem with your membership or an order, please email jenny@theteabreakproject.co.uk first. We will always try to sort things out sensibly.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.
